The author offers a typology of structural focus and complement-head order and provides a critical discussion of antisymmetry, Rightward movement, and the syntax/pragmatics interface. It argues that South Asian languages are best described as head-final and for a rightward movement in which a focussed constituent moves rightward from its base position into a V-adjoined/ V-incorporated slot.
