Supplemented by alhatton2-e3, ehatton2-e3.
There are three Alice Hattons.
The first, Lady Hatton, is Sir Christopher Hatton's grandmother.
The second is his sister (alhatton2-e3).
The third is the author of these letters; she is Sir Christopher
Hatton's daughter by his second wife Frances (fhatton-e3)
(Thompson 1878, vol. 2, 240, fn. a) and is distinguished from
the other two by the middle initial E.
