Sabriya Fisher, Hilary Prichard and Betsy Sneller received a Best Student Paper Award for their presentation at NWAV 43 which was held in Chicago on October 23-26, 2014. The title of their paper was "The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: incremental change in Philadelphia families". Their abstract can be found at the NWAV 43 website.

Julie Anne Legate's new book, Voice and v. Lessons from Achenese, has been published by The MIT Press as a Linguistic Inquiry Monograph. In Voice and v, Julie Anne Legate investigates the syntactic structure of voice, using Acehnese as the empirical starting point. A central claim is that voice is encoded in a functional projection, VoiceP, which is distinct from, and higher than, vP.
