Jack LaViolette (BA; 2016) awarded the 2016 Society for Linguistic Anthropology Undergraduate Essay Award.

Recently-graduated ling major Jack LaViolette won the 2016 Society for Linguistic Anthropology Undergraduate Essay Award for his essay titled “’Cyber-Metapragmatics’ and Alterity on reddit.com.”

The award winners will be publicly announced at the annual SLA Business Meeting, during the AAA annual meeting, on Saturday November 19.  Essay prize winners also have the opportunity to have their papers be considered for publication in our signature journal, Journal of Linguistic Anthropology.
