46th Penn Linguistic Conference

Mar 18, 2022 - Mar 20, 2022 (All Day) | This conference will be Virtual.

After considering uncertainties concerning the various COVID variants, as well as the PLC experience that our cohort has, the PLC Organizers have decided to continue running PLC 46 as a virtual conference. If you have any suggestions or thoughts regarding virtual conference-running, please feel free to email any one of us!

We are excited to announce our keynote and panel speakers for the 46th Penn Linguistics Conference, which will take place on March 18-20, 2022. For our keynote, we are delighted to have Dr. Mark Steedman from University of Edinburgh as our speaker. The topic of our panel will be Sociophonetics and Human-computer Interactions, facilitated by our very own Dr. Nicole Holliday. Our panel speakers will be: Dr. Sravana Reddy from ASAPP (previously Spotify), Dr. Andrew Rosenberg from Google, Dr. Daniel Villarreal from UPitt, and Dr. Georgia Zellou from UC Davis. We are excited to have a variety of speakers from both industry and academia, with research spanning across disciplines!

Please spread the word! We will be in touch with registration information for PLC46 in the coming months leading up to the conference. As always, thank you all for your support and we hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

We would like to thank the organizers of PLC 45 for taking a brave step towards running PLC online. And of course, we are also thankful for the support from everyone in the department.

Best wishes,
May, June, Xin, and Christine
