Beijing

Here are my photos of our trip to Beijing, when we recorded our program for the chinese television. We spent a lot of time at the tv thing, so we didn't really see very much of Beijing. But at least we went to the Summer Palace and "Forbidden City". And there are some nice pictures of the people that I went together with.

Food.

Tanja and the xiao3 chi1.

On the first afternoon after our recording, we went to the Summer Palace. That's it.

Edwin posing for a picture.

Somebody wrote calligraphy on the stones, using water and a huge brush. I saw this once in a park in Shanghai, too. Don't ask me what it is about, though.

I was there.

The roof here is painted with hundreds of small pictures. They say no two of them are the same.

A gate opposite of the entrance to the palace.

Actually the palace was destroyed multiple times. So all you can see is probably at most 100 years old (it was rebuilt in 1903).

Dragon in the cage.

There's a park with a lake surrounding the palace.

Waiting for Lewis... (the lion, Edith, and Edwin)

That evening, we went to a bar in one of the few places in Beijing where there's lots of bars. After we eventually arrived... =) ... it was fun:

The guys: Patrick, Lewis, Will, Edwin.

And the girls: Winnie, the two teachers that wouldn't leave us alone until later, and Edith.

Edwin, Tanja and some half of Winnie.

Tanja + Winnie.

Will + Edwin.

Patrick + Lewis.

Zhao, Li + Edith.

Forward to the second part of the trip.
