Here is the system:

• The four carnivores (Lion, Leopard, Wolf, Dingo Dog) have the reference boy (#1) with the opposite girl (#3); the girl in the partnered couple (#4) includes the boy's corner.
• The four herbivores (Horse, Zebra, Elephant, Woolly Mammoth) have the reference boy (#1) with the opposite girl (#3); the partnered couple (#2) does NOT include the boy's corner.
• The four avians (Swan, Raven, Bluebird, Cardinal) have everybody partnered.
• Each "normal" carnivore or herbivore (Lion, Wolf, Horse, Elephant) has a "strange" counterpart (Leopard, Dingo Dog, Zebra, Woolly Mammoth, respectively). To change the "strange" animal into the "normal" one, and vice versa, call RL->.
• Every baby animal is a 2-faced line. To change the baby animal into the adult equivalent, call Bend the Line.

In each case, the animal name is oriented the same way as the couple would be in a zero-rotated square. For example, compare the orientation of the word "Lion" in the figure above with the orientation of the couple in the Lion diagram at the top of the page.
