I’m pleased to announce that the Penn Working Papers in Linguistics volume 18.1 has just been published today. Volume 18.1 is the proceedings of PLC 35. I was both the issue editor for 18.1 (that’s a roving duty that Penn Linguistics graduate students carry out), and had a paper in this volume.

The SQAwR Package!

I’ve just uploaded my first R package to CRAN. It’s not available yet, but if you’d like to check it out yourself, you can install it from github, if you’ve installed devtools.

install_github("SQAwR", username = "JoFrhwld", branch = "master")
library(SQAwR)
help(package="SQAwR")

You’ll see that there’s not much to it, just the data sets that I’ll be referencing in the texbook I’m writing called “Introduction to Quantitative Analysis with R.”

Dissertation proposal

I successfully defended my dissertation proposal today!! The abstract and supporting documents are available here. The slides from the defense contain animations which I think are pretty cool, but you’ll have to view them in Adobe Reader for them to work.
