Winter Coat Drive - 2009!
Does your old winter coat still have some serviceable miles on it?
Warm coats in good condition are needed by a number of charitable organizations in the Philadelphia Area.
The Department of Linguistics is working with the Penn Volunteers in Public Service Center for Community Partnerships office in organizing our 9th annual winter coat drive. If you have a gently used coat (or coats) to donate to our drive, they can be brought to one of the three locations listed below.
We do not have the facilities or funds to clean donated items. Freshly laundered items, or those recently cleaned, are especially appreciated. Please make sure that the zippers zip and that there are buttons to be buttoned!
You may bring coats to the Department of Linguistics or the Penn Volunteers In Public Service office on weekdays during November and through December 11, 2009.
The Department of Physics and Astronony will be accepting coats weekdays between November 2nd and the 20th this year for those of you who have offices near the David Rittenhouse Laboratory.
Pairs of warm mittens and gloves are also welcome.
** Special Needs: Babies and Children's coats. Packs of new socks, both children and adults.
Last year we collected more than 100 coats! Thank you for your continued support.
