Reading is fun!
Being a PRI tutor will be one of your most rewarding and memorable experiences. By working only 2-3 hours a week, you can help raise a child’s reading proficiency. Help aid the minds of young struggling readers on to a path of independency and confidence in their academic careers and beyond.
become a part of PRI
Join with other Penn students in Community Schools Student Partnerships (CSSP). CSSP will give you training in the use of the Reading Road and coordinate your schedule with students in local schools. Contact penn.reading@gmail.com.
Tutoring
Tutoring is also available outside of the classroom to work-study students and anyone who wants to volunteer. Anyone can become a tutor, and after a brief training session, you will have the knowledge to utilize the Reading Road effectively to the benefit of your reader. Attendance at weekly meetings is a must, so that ideas can be exchanged between you and other tutors to better understand the needs of the students.
Outside the Penn Community
The Reading Road has been provided on this website for those who want to take the joy of reading outside of the Penn community.
