Ordering the Penn Historical Corpora


To order the CD-ROM containing the three Penn Parsed Corpora of Historical English, including:
  • the Penn Parsed Corpus of Modern British English (PPCMBE, release 1)
  • the Penn-Helsinki Parsed Corpus of Early Modern English (PPCEME, release 2)
  • the Penn-Helsinki Parsed Corpus of Middle English, Second Edition (PPCME2, release 3)
please print out and submit a signed copy of the Corpus License Agreement and a filled out copy of the corpus order form, which can be obtained from the links below: Please note that the corpus CD cannot be shipped until these forms have been received.

The completed forms should be faxed or sent by post. They can also be scanned and then emailed as pdfs. To obtain the fax number, send an email requesting it to krochATlingDOTupennDOTedu. The same address can be used for emailing the forms. The postal address for the forms is:

Licenses for the corpora vary in price according to the size of the user community, as indicated on the order form. Payment by check, by wire transfer and by credit card is possible. The order form contains instructions for use of these modalities. The quickest way to order the corpora is through the online reseller Kagi (click here).

Included on the CD-ROM with the corpora is the search program CorpusSearch 2, written by Beth Randall. This program has also been released as open source software under Mozilla Public License 1.1 and can be downloaded from sourceforge.net at the project site. Updates to the program are posted to the site on an ongoing basis, and bugs should be reported there.
