Dear PLC 28 speakers: We're looking forward to seeing you at the end of this week! I trust that you have all registered, proofread your abstracts online, and arranged for accommodations during your stay in Philadelphia. If you have any questions regarding these matters, please email us immediately. A few final announcements: 1. If you're going to be distributing handouts for your talk, we recommend that you bring 40-50 copies. This is a generous estimate based on attendance at previous PLCs. If we find that attendance this year is higher (or if you'd rather wait until you arrive here to make photocopies), there are several copy shops within a couple of blocks of Huntsman Hall. Visit http://www.ling.upenn.edu/Events/PLC/plc28/Huntsman.html for more information. 2. If you're going to be using Powerpoint, other software, or audio or video recordings, and you haven't already contacted us, please do so as soon as possible. We're not anticipating any technical difficulties, of course, but we'd like to be prepared just in case! We recommend that you test your equipment onsite before your talk (during a coffee break or lunch break). If you're bringing a laptop, it's a good idea to bring a backup CD or floppy as well. Finally, keep in mind that the computers in the classrooms will not have phonetic fonts, and that you will not be able to install fonts or other software on them. 3. The PLC registration desk will be located in the back of the MBA Cafe on the second floor of Huntsman Hall. Once you've registered, remember to carry your badge with you at all times. If you are planning to arrive at PLC after Friday, Feb. 27 and you do not have a Penn ID, you'll need to have a member of the PLC committee meet you at the Locust Street entrance in order to enter the building. Please contact us as soon as possible (if you haven't already) so that we can make necessary arrangments. If you have any questions or need anything else from us, please feel free to email. Thank you for your contributions, and we'll see you in a few days! Marjorie Pak Co-Chair, PLC 28
