Hi everyone- A few announcements about PLC 28... 1. The preliminary schedule is posted at: http://www.ling.upenn.edu/Events/PLC/plc28/schedule.html (Let us know asap if you see any errors.) A few things that are different this year - we're having PLC at Huntsman instead of Logan, we're having parallel sessions all day Saturday, and the party is at Tanja and Lukasz' house (Michael's taking music requests). 2. You can preregister for PLC at: http://www.ling.upenn.edu/Events/PLC/registration/register.php The preregistration deadline is Feb. 18; after that it'll cost you $20 instead of $15 to attend. But remember... 3. Your registration fee gets waived if you volunteer for us! We need people to work at the registration desk, book tables and coffee table in shifts throughout the weekend; we also need help with setup and cleanup and party planning. All these jobs are described at: http://www.ling.upenn.edu/Events/PLC/plc28/volunteer.html We're working on an online signup form. In the meantime, you can email Damien (halldj@babel) if you're interested in helping with registration/book/coffee stuff or Jon (jdwright@babel) if want to help out with the party setup and/or cleanup. IMPORTANT: Even if you're volunteering for the conference, you still need to register! (see #2) The registration form (created by Eva) enters your name into a database so that it's automatically included when we print out name badges, etc., so it makes life easier for everyone if you just take 10 seconds and fill out the form. 4. This year we're offering a discount to people who pre-order t-shirts. You can see the t-shirt design at: http://www.ling.upenn.edu/Events/PLC/plc28/t-shirt.html To pre-order a shirt, just email Tanja (tatjana@babel) your t-shirt size by Feb. 13 and bring her $8 (cash or check to Penn Linguistics Club). T-shirts will cost $10 at the conference. Keep in mind that depending on what the onsite demand for shirts is like, we may ask Penn students to wait until a week or so after the conference to actually get your shirts, in case we have to do a second run. 5. As always, email plc28@babel if you have any questions or suggestions. Thanks for everyone's help so far! The PLC 28 Organizing Committee
