Maribel Romero received her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in September 1998. Her dissertation is titled "Focus and Reconstruction Effects in Wh-Phrases". In the fall of 1998, she joined the faculty at the Department of Linguistics at Penn. Her research interests include topics in Formal Semantics, in the Syntax-Semantics interface and in Computational Semantics. In particular she has worked on adjectives, questions, Focus, ellipsis, reconstruction, choice functions, presupposition projection, negation and inverse linking.
